Jobs for games

France Travail has just launched emplois2024.fr, a website dedicated to jobs for the 2024 Olympic Games. The aim is to fill around 90,000 jobs in various sectors linked to the organization of the Games, such as security, catering, transport, waste management, communications and also marketing. In addition, some 62,000 jobs in the tourism sector are also targeted, notably in the hotel and catering industries. The cleaning sector, with over 6,000 jobs to be filled. It has been identified as one of the seven priority sectors for the event.

The jobs2024.fr website aims to promote these professions beyond the Games period, by highlighting the sectors that train, recruit and develop workers' skills. However, it is regrettable that cleaners and waste professionals are not more prominently featured on the site and in communication tools.

Tighter controls on waste management

In 2023, the cleaning sector was subjected to intensive checks by the Labour Inspectorate, with a nationwide concentration of staff on companies. No overall feedback on the irregularities observed has yet been provided. Several company directors confirmed the high level of these inspections. Among the problems identified, the return of employee clocking-in and clocking-out is still under-performed. Despite employers' obligation to prove hours worked.

Urssaf's 2023 report, published on March 13, highlights the intensified fight against undeclared work. In 2023, the number of reassessments reached an all-time high of 1.18 billion euros, compared with 788 million euros the previous year. Over the past ten years, the amount of reassessments collected by the Urssaf network has quadrupled.

In 2023, the construction and public works sector will remain the most affected, accounting for 61% of reassessments, followed by business services with 23%, far ahead of the trade sector. Urssaf is mobilizing 1,500 inspectors, including over 350 dedicated to combating undeclared work.

SantExpo 2024: "Building the health of tomorrow

From May 21 to 23, SantExpo will be held at Paris Expo - Porte de Versailles. The event, dedicated to the healthcare and medical-social sectors, will focus on the theme of "building tomorrow's health". The event is expected to attract 550 speakers, 750 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors. Professionals will have the opportunity to discuss technological advances, best practices, regulations and innovative solutions. Companies such as Onet, Exeol, i-team, Oxy'Pharm and Kärcher will be present.

SantExpo's theme villages will highlight key areas such as digital technologies. But also management of healthcare establishments, cybersecurity, sport-health and the promotion of disability. These villages will encourage exchanges and the discovery of new technologies. Particular attention will be paid to current issues in the healthcare sector.
